LandscA/Ope reading group

AdO/Aptive was invited to host three reading group sessions organised by the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, as accompanying program for the exhibition “The Use of Landscape”.

Three sessions:

image(i_nation): How are landscapes and nature compressed into human-made images? What other modes of imagining concepts of seeing and representation do or could exist?

in(ter)vention: Focus on the human interventions in what is broadly described as “nature” and the inventions of ways to deal with the ecological consequences.

in*version: The aim to invert already existing anthropocentric, insufficient and exploitative conceptions of nature and landscapes by reading and learning from non-eurocentric epistemologies that create other versions of knowledge about nature.
